Darrell & Kay Smith
Founders
We were High School sweethearts at Ouachita Parish High in Monroe, Louisiana. I graduated in May and we were married in October 1955, at the ages of 18 and 16. Kay finished High School the next year while I proceeded to College at Northeast Louisiana University in Monroe. In 1960 I graduated from the university with a degree in Pharmacy. I was later designated as a Doctor of Pharmacy, by the Louisiana State Board of Pharmacy. Kay, and our daughter, Becky, and I moved to Fort Worth in July of that same year. Then in November our son Gregory was born. Kay began her college education at Arlington State University in Arlington, Texas. She managed to keep a very high grade point average, even while keeping house and raising our two small children. In 1965 God used the lure of owning our own Pharmacy to cause us to move to San Angelo, Texas. Our second son, Scott, arrived the year before and now with three small children, Kay once again enrolled in college at Angelo State University, in San Angelo. Andrew was born in 1972, bringing the number to four beautiful children. Since then five grandchildren have been added to the flock. We sold our Pharmacies and Medical Equipment Company in 1995 and have been better able to follow God's leading in the various aspects of "Sharing Christ with the World', to which He has called us. The formal founding of The Gospel Vision Foundation was one of the first steps taken after the sale of our businesses. We face the future expectantly and with excitement. We know that His Amazing Grace, which has brought us safe thus far, will continue to lead us as we seek nothing more nor less than His Perfect will. May You Let God Bless You, as you seek His will for your life. If we can be of any service to you, contact us via email from this site. In His Service, Darrell and Kay Smith
