                        TESTIMONY

My name is Stanislav Konovalenko today I'm a pastor of Grace Church in Kiev. But I have not always been a man of God, my way to service for Him began in 1995.

At that time a was a student of Kirovograd machine building college.  It was the very time when Jesus knocked to my heart for the first time.
I was born in a well off family in 1975, September 17.  I use d to stay with my grandparents till the age of12.
My grandfather is an army officer, my granny is a teacher.  I have got such bright memories connected with them. My parents used to take me only on weekends.  They didn't want to me to see their endless mess.  They were going to divorce.
I was growing up and my attitude to my parents had changed. I hated my father and pitied my mother just a bit. I “moved” to the street. The first cigarette, first dose of drug, alcohol. I became double -faced: an examples on to my parents and a criminal in Kirovograd. The focus of my was life - women, drugs and much money. I tried to be the best in evil.
My parents couldn't even imagine and they didn't want to see how bad I was.  They tried to solve all the problems by means of money. In 1992 they made me enter the college and I immediately made friends with ones just like me.
I was getting tired of such a way of life but…couldn't stop. When I was the third year student I made friends with a very handsome, rich young man. God decided to save me and sent this man to me. Sasha is his name was very delicate and didn't press on me.  We walked much &.talked too and once sitting Onja park bench he started talking about Jesus.
Our meetings had only one goal and topic -Jesus We didn't have a church or tutors in our life then.  But we had more.  We had Jesus!
We found Vadim Cheney’s church* and he attentively listened to my story and explained that god has his plans formed for me. I soon I was baptized -in 1996.
When I was in water I attentively watched the actions of the pastor and heard the voice telling me that that was my fate and I would do the same.
I started laughing Vadim told me - God knows better.  Your fate, just listen to him and go where god sends you.
I graduated from the college, had my business and also served in the church.  But the God words I heard made me worried. I fell ill.  A fatal disease and the doctors said that only 6-8 months were left for me to live..
I ran away from the hospital and on coming home cried and prayed to the  lord to show me the way out.  In a month I felt better, went for a regular check up to the hospital and there wasn't any trace of the sickness.
At that moment I made a decision to serve him all the rest of my life.  Then I knew what to tell people about god.  It was my vocation and I stuck to it. In 1999 I served in Eupatoria, in a rehabilitation centre.” Freedom” I was well tempered there. Then is 2000 I became a student of the Moscow Bible Seminary. The second year students were sent to serve in Siberia .I have practicing there for 3 months. After practice I returned to Kirovograd.
In 2003 I moved to Kiev. The church God appointed me to had a lot of problems - splitting was the most serious one.  People believed my words that God gave me, and their soul wounds were healed.  In the very church god gave me my wife, Katya.
In 2004 the very man who baptized me, Vadim Cherny, the National Director of The Gospel Vision Foundation, visited with me and shared the vision for reaching our nation with the gospel of Grace in Christ.  He asked me if I would become a part of this movement.

At once I realized the opportunity that this association offered and I accepted.  It has proved to advance my ministry.  In April I received a visit from Darrell Smith to talk more with me about the role I am to play in the advance of the gospel here in Kiev. I will begin to train young men and women to teach and preach Jesus in home groups that as god blesses will become independent churches and multiply themselves in the same way.  Today we have 100 church members and a lot of people come to learn about Christ.  amen!
